I've been and avid consumer of 'self-help' style blogs for a couple of years now. About the same length of time that I have been absorbing my official diagnosis of Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder. This isn't a co-incidence. It was part of my grief process to look for people struggling with the same sentence, and in the process I came across so many amazing writers, all focussed on making the most of every day and mostly without an ADHD perspective.
I love the blog format.
I love being able to encounter the core of an idea in a page of reading. Even more I love developing my relationship with a particular writer's point of view over an extended period of absorbing their thoughts.
I do, however, also know that learning is in doing, so much more than in observing.
To that end I present to you 'Overwhelmed and Underpaid'. Fragments of my own journey, woven together specifically with my struggle with the particular brain chemistry that labels me with the big ADHD.
