Hey folks, I'm approaching the last weekend of my live duet album launch with Robbie Long (just Sydney & Newcastle to go) & it's been really wonderful! It's been a long time since I've felt so excited about new music & I feel like I've dug deeper inside myself to find a voice I never knew I had. Robbie is wonderful to share a performance space with. He listens constantly & responds with great energy & inventiveness to whatever happens. Every performance of a song is different & beautiful. I find myself playing lines I've never played & shaping melodies into new creatures. I'm so excited I've handed my double bass over to Neville Whitehead for some bridgework & a new fingerboard. I want to make my machine a little faster! for those who want to catch the collaboration, come down on thursday to The Cafechurch Space in Glebe or The Royal Exchange in Newcastle.
