You can't get better entertainment or dollar value than this - two of Australia's highly respected and much loved musicians and performers on tour together soon at a venue near you.
Having performed to a sell out crowd for the CD launch gig at the National Folk Festival for her you & me vol.1 duets CD (featuring Frencham originals as well as a wide range of covers with friends, including "Black Coffee" with Kristina Olsen), the incomparably engaging singer, bassist and songwriter Liz Frencham announces her highly anticipated "you and me" national tour dates.
And what a tour it will be, with Liz performing the "you and me" songs in style with one of Australia's finest guitarists, Robbie Long (The Lawnmowers). With a long history of eclectic musical taste and outstanding musicianship, Robbie recently added Australian Flat Pick Guitar Champion to his list of achievements.
And the secret is out, Robbie is a mean vocalist to boot!
Not to be outdone by Liz, Robbie is launching his own CD, Snapshots, on the tour, which shows off his musical versatility (including trad, bluegrass, contemporary) and virtuosity, with a range of original tunes as well as old favourites, including a very classy "Georgia". Hear why he is the champion!
Long time friends and collaborators, Liz and Robbie are both excited about the chance to finally work together alone, and to support each other's latest CD release.
"We've always wanted to play music together, just the two of us, and the fact that we both wanted each other to play on our respective CD launch tours was perfect timing," says a delighted Liz.
"Liz is a magical performer who really knows how to touch the audience, and we have so many musical influences and ideas in common. I'm really excited about launching the CDs together," Robbie enthuses.
